Illinois Brass Band and Madison Brass Band Present an Evening of Brass!


Join us on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the Mount Prospect Park District, Lions Park Veterans Memorial Band Shell, 411 South Maple Street, Mount Prospect, IL for a truly unique evening of music. Two of the Midwest’s premier British style brass bands will be joining forces to present a “Brass Band Bash.”

Featured will be the Madison Brass Band and the host, Illinois Brass Band. Both bands are members of the North American Brass Band Association and all have been national champions at various times throughout their existence. It will be a lively evening filled with marches, film music, overtures, jazz, Dixieland, Broadway, hymn tunes and of course patriotic selections. The bands will each present individual programs and then the combined 60 brass players will join forces for the grand finale and encore performance. This is the first time the two bands have come together for a free summer concert in the Chicago Suburban area.

Bring a blanket or chair, and a picnic dinner and enjoy a concert by two of the finest brass bands in the Midwest. Concessions will also be available. The performance will go on rain or shine. The performance will move into the Lions park recreation building in the event of inclement weather. The event is free is family friendly and children are encourage to attend. This event is presented in conjunction with the Mount Prospect Park District.
