Illinois Brass Band Announces Holiday Performance Schedule

16 Nov 2015

The Illinois Brass Band, under the direction of Music Director Stephen Squires, is proud to announce the schedule of upcoming holiday performances.

IBB will kick off the holiday season with their annual Holiday Classics performance at Palatine’s historic Cutting Hall, 150 E. Wood Street, Palatine, IL at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 6, 2015. This has become an annual family tradition for many. The band will also return to the sanctuary of Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Avenue, St. Charles, IL on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 5:00 P.M.

Both performances will consist of Christmas music from around the world with familiar songs both sacred and secular. Ms. Amy Keipert will be our guest vocalist at the Palatine concert singing familiar holiday classics and leading the popular sing along. Band member Mr. James Sobacki will be featured as Soprano Cornet soloist on the Stephen Bulla arrangement of “O Holy Night.”

Other selections featured on the performances will include the brilliant John Wasson arrangement of “Festival Fanfare for Christmas,” “Christmas Fantasia,” by IBB artistic advisor Andrew Wainwright, as well as the premier performance of “A Child is Born,” a newly commissioned arrangement also by Andrew Wainwright.

Tickets for the Cutting Hall concert are available in advance through the Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center Box Office by phone (847-202-5222) or online at cuttinghall.org. Tickets are also available on the day of the performance. Cutting Hall is a facility maintained and operated by the Palatine Park District.
